Wow! We had rain on Saturday and turned into a muddy, mucky, dreary mess! It took until today (Tuesday, January 29, 2013) to dry out enough to be able to clean pens. Murphy the wallaroo is a total sun-lover, so he wasn't a happy camper at all. He's in full basking mode, making up for lost sun-bathing time!

New babies!
We love this time of year! Nice cool weather and lots of new babies! Our most recent additions: a Sicilian Miniature Donkey born 23 Jan 2013 and 4-Horned Sheep triplets born 24 Jan 2013.
Welcome to The Camel Farm blog
The Camel Farm is located just south of Yuma, Arizona. We got our name many years ago when we first arrived in Yuma with a herd of 20 camels. Since then, we've added a few more animals! Right now we have over 30 different kinds of animals and our animal count totals over 300. Some are here just for fun; most of them we raise to sell or use in other ways. Besides being open to the public, some of the things we use the animals for are petting zoos, parades, live Nativity scenes, tv commercials, photo opps. One of our camels even appeared in an opera! Fortunately for the audience she didn't have a singing part....
